Denny Stockdale

Already the president of a company and a motivational speaker, Edina resident Denny Stockdale recently added “award-winning author” to his list of accomplishments. His new book, Conversations from the Neighborhood Ice Cream Shop: 8 Keys to Rediscovering Lost Dreams and Finding Your Life’s Calling won the 2010 Inspirational Book of the Year award at the Next Generation Indie Book Awards. Stockdale heads the Minnesota-based personal development consulting company Stockdale Resource Group, which aids mid-career professionals in finding a work-life balance and discovering their own unique callings.

This book is filled with hope, advice and suggestions for personal reflection. Stockdale used portions of his own life experiences to create the three main characters, all of which are at different stages in searching for meaning in their lives. The book is also infused with Minnesota connections—the ice cream shop referenced in the title and visited throughout the book is based off of a number of local shops, one found right here on Kellogg Avenue in Edina.

Stockdale’s upcoming engagements include speaking at the Dream Maker Circles workshop in Uptown Minneapolis, July 21 and 28.
