This virtual MacPhail Spotlight Series concert showcases three cities from around the world and features two international MacPhail teaching artists, plus video capture from four different filmmakers collaborating remotely.
This program features choreographies to solo cello works by J. S. Bach and Chad Hughes, in collaboration with the James Sewell Ballet. A professional company of dancers will perform an innovative work that explores the technical boundaries of ballet throughout MacPhail Center for Music’s building in downtown Minneapolis. Continental Ballet Company has created an on-demand video featuring several dances from the ballet Swan Lake, as well as a variety of backstage scenes from CBC’s ballet production preparation. We are anxious to return to the theater, but until that time, we are offering this virtual sampling of classical ballet for spring 2021.
