This program features choreographies to solo cello works by J. S. Bach and Chad Hughes, in collaboration with the James Sewell Ballet. A professional company of dancers will perform an innovative work that explores the technical boundaries of ballet throughout MacPhail Center for Music’s building in downtown Minneapolis. Continental Ballet Company has created an on-demand video featuring several dances from the ballet Swan Lake, as well as a variety of backstage scenes from CBC’s ballet production preparation. We are anxious to return to the theater, but until that time, we are offering this virtual sampling of classical ballet for spring 2021.

Join Ellen and Clark Griswold for this virtual salute to National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
A holiday mash-up for the whole family, directed and choreographed by Jennifer Weber, The Hip Hop Nutcracker recorded live at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center is a contemporary dance spectacle set to Tchaikovsky’s timeless music. A unique and joyful event, this evening-length production is performed by a supercharged cast of a dozen all-star dancers, a DJ, a violinist, and MC Kurtis Blow, one of hip hop’s founding fathers, who opens the show with a short set.
