Middle School Admissions Showcase

Saint Thomas Academy offers an educational experience unlike any other school in Minnesota. Prospective middle school students (entering 6-8 grades) and their families can learn more about this experience at the Admissions Showcase, which will include:

Tours led by current students.

A short program providing an overview of the Academy and the admissions process.

Opportunities to talk with faculty, admissions and financial aid staff, current students and parents.

ReFin(e)d You - A ladies-only workshop for the body+mind+soul

Awaken and begin to heal your mind, body and soul with this edgy, inspired WORKshop.

This is unlike anything you've experienced; a blend of yoga, meditation, booty shaking, self exploration, and connection to other local, on-fire, on-purpose women.

Proclaim and powerfully commit to the woman YOU want to SHOW UP as... leave on FIRE and filled with LOVE and purpose on a whole new level.

White Bear Lake Gangster Tour

Violent and well-dressed gangsters abounded in the 1930s, and groups like the Barker Gang came to the lakes when they needed to lay low. The White Bear Lake Historical Society will take you on a bus tour of some of their notorious haunts.

Looking for a challenge or just a new way to get involved in nature? The Minnesota Global Birders will share tips about how to make birding part of your vacation and what you might get to see at destinations around the world.

Minnesota Computers for Schools Computer Donation Drive

Earth Day is the perfect time to do some spring-cleaning and get rid of your old technology! On Saturday, April 27 Minnesota Computers for Schools is hosting a computer donation drive – drop off your old computer equipment and put it to good use in the community.

MCFS refurbishes and reuses all donated equipment. The refurbished equipment is placed in schools and educational nonprofits throughout the state.

The first 100 people to donate a computer will receive a free beer coupon to redeem at the Surly beer hall.

Jack Link’s “Kiss My Sas(quatch)” Fundraiser

To benefit a local Minnetonka animal rescue, Secondhand Hounds, the infamous Jack Link’s Sasquatch will be hosting his very own kissing booth at the Wildside Store in Minneapolis’ Target Center. For every kiss the Sasquatch receives, Jack Link’s will donate $1 to Secondhand Hounds animal rescue. In addition, furry canine friends from Secondhand Hounds will be on-site and available to meet visitors.

Winter Constellations in the Show-Dome

Take some time to look up this Saturday, as this event teaches about the constellations visible in the winter months. Make a star wheel you can take home with you to help you find even more constellations throughout the year. Ages 5+ with an adult. Free. 3-3:45 p.m. Penn Lake Library, 612.543.5669.
