The 21st Annual Kenwood Symphony Orchestra Masters Concerto and Aria Competition Winners Showcase provides a unique opportunity for adult amateur and emerging professional musicians to perform with a symphony orchestra. KSO musicians created the competition when we realized that adult musicians were largely excluded from classical music competitions. Over 30 talented musicians performed for an independent panel of judges in November, and the following eight winners will perform their solos at the concert with the KSO:

Brian Hadley playing Rota's Concerto for Bassoon, mvmt. 3

Jiyeon Hwang singing from Donizetti's Don Pasquale: "Quel guardo il Cavaliere ... So anch’io la virtù magica"

Seongkyeong Kim playing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4, mvmt. 1

Xin Lin playing Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No.3, mvmt. 3

Kristin Morant singing from Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail: "Martern aller Arten"

Salam Murtada playing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4, mvmt. 1

Hocheol Shin playing Schumann's Cello Concerto Op.129, mvmt. 1

Amanda Verstegen singing from Donizetti's Linda di Chamounix: "Ah! tardai troppo...O luce di quest' anima"
