2019 Bold New Idea Winner Will Celebrate Girls in Sports

In January, the Edina Community Foundation welcomed submissions for its ‘Bold New Idea’ contest, awarding an Edina resident (or a group of residents) up to $5,000 for their idea to strengthen and celebrate our beautiful city. Local Volunteer Recognized for Work

Last year, Patty Dronen started thinking about the upcoming Edina High School senior party. Ordinarily, this Edina mom focuses her attention on sports; she has been the administrator of the Edina Baseball Association and is currently an administrator for the Edina Basketball Association. But when nobody filled a leadership position on the senior party board, Dronen volunteered as lead decorations chair.

Edina CEOs of the Round Table

Last month, the Edina Chamber of Commerce and the Edina Community Foundation co-hosted a “CEO Roundtable,” an event to promote economic growth in Edina. The roundtable’s keynote speaker was Kathy Tunheim, the senior advisor to Gov. Mark Dayton on job creation. Tunheim addressed issues that affect the entire state’s business growth, and afterward five local CEOs discussed how Edina has responded to these demands at a local level.
