Stephanie Thomas is no stranger to this page. She has an uncanny talent for capturing fleeting moments and turning them into timeless treasures. This snapshot is no different. Thomas took her father, Gordy Lewis, to Dave & Buster’s at Southdale Center to celebrate his 97th birthday. Lewis has been an Edina resident since 1962. “The idea was to remind him of his childhood in St. Paul and how he would walk down the street to the fairgrounds from his home in St. Anthony Park,” Thomas says. “I was hoping that while at Dave & Buster’s, he would pretend he was a little kid again, playing games at the State Fair.” When she looks at this photo of her dad she says, “I like the energy in the photo. His expression, the colors, the lighting and the slight blur of his hand that indicates movement.”
