While it may not look like what we know as a traditional salad, this flavorful dish combines all the classic Mediterranean tastes into one delicious meal.
Salads come in many different forms: Caesar salad, fruit salad, caprese salad and, a Middle Eastern favorite called tabbouleh. While it may not look like what we know as a traditional salad, this flavorful dish combines all the classic Mediterranean tastes into one delicious meal.
Originating from the mountains between Lebanon and Syria, tabbouleh combines many different ingredients into one mouthwatering salad. Tomatoes, cucumbers, parsley, olive oil, lemon, bulgar and fresh mint are the main ingredients that give tabbouleh its flavorful taste and quinoa-esque texture. Good Earth’s executive chef Audrey Mazzitello describes tabbouleh as a very traditional dish and says it’s easy on your palette.
Good Earth serves tabbouleh in its Greek salad, one of the more popular menu items. But as for at home, Mazzitello recommends serving tabbouleh cold on a platter with hummus, olives and other delectable items. “Tabbouleh is very fresh,” Mazzitello says. “It’s a great addition to any dish.
