Edina’s Lisa Rose is a three-time Images of Edina award-winning photographer, actress, and teacher.
The interests and talents of Edina’s Lisa Rose are varied and noteworthy. She’s an actress and a school teacher. She teaches Zumba and is a Minnesota State Fair award winning baker. (Ask her about her fig and walnut scones.) She is also now a three-time Images of Edina award winning photographer.
In this photo of the Nine Mile Creek Trail that Rose captioned with a quote from Emerson– “Go Instead Where There is No Path, and Leave a Trail,” Rose memorializes the newly built trail that happens to be not far from her Edina home. “I like to take walks along the trail as one of my many fitness outlets,” Rose says. “It was late spring and it had been raining. I was trudging through the mud and found an ideal spot [for a photograph.]” She notes that the cloud cover provided good lighting for the lush and woodsy setting of this particular photo.
Her previous Images of Edina award winners were of a freshly painted Creek Valley water tower in 2012 and a candid shot of the cheese counter staff at Jerry’s Foods in Edina in 2015. She likes to shoot using her Canon Rebel camera but if she’s out and about without it, she has no aversion to taking pictures with her smartphone. Rose is mostly drawn to nature shots and landscapes but says, “I also enjoy architectural shots and experimenting with photo editing software.”
When asked about the caption of this photo, Rose says, “I wanted a unique caption and thought the quote fit the picture perfectly. It inspired me and I hope it will inspire others.”
