Edina’s Summer Concert Series lineup features local musicians and student acts.

Beginning June 12, the Plaza at Nolan Mains will host its returning annual concert series. “I’m thrilled to bring the 50th & France Summer Concert Series into its sixth season,” says concert series organizer Anna Devine. “This summer, we have some familiar faces returning to the concert series as well as some debuts from established Twin Cities musicians. I’m excited to welcome everyone and gather over live music.”

The summer concert series is a free event, encouraging the community to experience an array of acclaimed and diverse local talent, along with student musicians handpicked by singer-songwriter Anna Devine. Each Friday until September 4—excluding July 3—will showcase a wide array of talent.

What makes this year’s lineup special is its commitment to the next generation of local acts. Thanks to a grant by the City of Edina Arts and Culture Commission, every Friday night performance will feature a student opener taking to the stage from 5:30–6 p.m, right before the headlining acts take to the stage from 6:15–7:15 p.m. “50th & France is an arts-forward district, and this is one of the ways we show up for the arts,” says Rebecca Sorensen, director of the 50th & France business association. “We love welcoming audiences of all ages to enjoy live music and all that the district has to offer. We encourage concertgoers to shop and dine in the district before and after the show.”

Along with the plentiful shopping and dining opportunities at 50th & France, nearby restaurants will be serving grab-and-go dinner options so attendees can enjoy take-out right in the plaza without missing a single beat. Edina Liquor is returning with a pop-up beverage garden that offers beer, THC drinks and wine as well as non-alcoholic options to enjoy while getting a good view of the stage.

The sixth season will have its finale show on September 4, marking the last concert as a benefit show titled Band Together. The Edina Education Fund, a non-profit arm of the Edina Public Schools, promises to support the lives of all students, tracking everything from literacy to mental health. During this grand finale featuring Edina band The Teardowns, people will be welcome to donate to the fund, and Edina Liquor will donate a portion of their sales from the beverage garden.
