Edina Advisory Board Meeting

If your New Year’s resolution is to become more involved in community service, your timing is perfect to participate in one of Edina’s 10 advisory boards or commissions. Applications for open positions will be accepted until January 21.

The boards and commissions give Edina residents an opportunity to present a community perspective to the City Council. Commissioners are appointed for a three-year term after interviews with the mayor and select members of the City Council and staff. Liaisons from city staff and high school student representatives also serve on each commission. Commissions focus on:

  • Arts and Culture
  • Community Health
  • Energy and Environment
  • Heritage Preservation
  • Human Rights and Relations
  • Parks and Recreation
  • Planning
  • Transportation

For more information on volunteering as a commissioner, and to see open positions, go to edinamn.gov.
