Planning for the passing of a loved one is something none of us wants to do, but it is necessary. Where to begin? The folks at Home Instead developed a solution to help you through the process.

“Most seniors want to live their final years at home,” says Cher Kuechle, a franchise owner for Home Instead Edina. “You need to plan for that and have lots of conversations with family.”

Compose Your Life Song is a website to assist seniors for free in the process of having these conversations. Asking loved ones about things like bucket lists, funeral processes and even what to do if they require care, Compose Your Life Song covers nearly everything you’d expect with a little bonus once you’re done.

“Once you’ve completed the activity it creates a customized song for you,” says Kuechle.

So while it may be daunting and even saddening, the process was created to help make those twilight years easier and hopefully less stressful for everyone.
