Let’s talk about the highly neglected, easily disorganized refrigerator. It’s time to clean up those drips and sticky spills and be on your way to a squeaky clean and organized refrigerator.

Step 1: Take everything out. Discard expired salad dressings, condiments and other items. Consolidate items that you have more than one of and combine them into one container. It’s time to get rid of any items that you “might” use someday.

Step 2: Scrub it down. Using a natural cleaner or vinegar/water solution, spray down the shelves, walls and door and wipe with a clean cloth. Remove drawers, transfer to the sink, fill with water and dish soap, and scrub.

Step 3: Organize. Using clear bins, group like items together and label the fronts. We love using lazy susans for taller items that get stuck in the back of the fridge. Keep smaller condiments, sauces and dressings in the door. Dedicate a separate bin for defrosting meats. Keep kid snacks in the lower storage areas.

Tip: Dedicate a bin to group the day’s meal planning items together. Makes dinner prep a breeze!
