Hobbyist photographer captures a moment of peace in the dog days of summer.
Edina resident and hobbyist photographer Vicki Hurwitz was out for a walk one warm summer morning in 2021 when she noticed the sun hitting her neighbor’s dog just right. She took advantage of the tranquil moment and pulled out her camera. “I liked the composition it made with the chair and the bright blue pillow,” she says. Hurwitz owns one small dog herself and beyond animals also enjoys taking pictures of plants and people. With this photo, Hurwitz received runner up in the Plants & Animals category of the 2021 Images of Edina photo contest.
