Edina High School senior Julia Wissink made her Children’s Theatre debut as part of the ensemble in The Wizard of Oz, which ran through June. “Children’s Theatre has always been something on my list. I’ve always wanted to do a show there,” Julia says. As part of the ensemble, Julia was required to perform in all 70 shows. “We get to be a couple of different characters. Whether that’s a munchkin or an Ozian or a monkey or a winkie guard or a poppy dancer. There’s a bunch of different groups of ensembles in The Wizard of Oz. We get to express different personalities in different areas of the show.”
Julia wants to continue in acting. “It’s a big part of my life, and it’s important to me,” she says. “It brings me so much joy.”
