It’s a wedding extravaganza, and you’re invited!
This anthology for young adult readers is packed with romance across eight short stories of Desi weddings—colorful, fabulous, multiday marriage celebrations of people of Bangladeshi, Indian, Nepali, Pakistani or Sri Lankan descent.
The stories take place around the world, from Mumbai to New Jersey. Readers will find themselves in lavish hotels, cozy homes, community centers, ballrooms and even a courthouse. These huge family celebrations turn out to be the perfect backdrop for drama and romance.
Each story, like each wedding, has its own beauty, energy and swoony moments. Most have a contemporary setting, with characters facing familiar teen pressures, like rival classmates, family expectations, Instagram drama, freshly broken hearts and dreams for the future. A couple of the tales dip into fantasy, featuring literally fated soulmates or vampires—who are still young adults at 120 years old, after all.
Contributing authors to this vibrant collection include Edina’s Payal Doshi, author of the recently published middle grade novel Rea and the Blood of the Nectar.
Perfect for teens (and adults!), who already know they love to read romance—or for readers, who would like to sample the genre. The variety of love stories means there’s a happy ending here for everyone.
