Morningside Woman’s Club Holiday Market offers an ideal one-stop shop for gifts.
Our community enjoys numerous winter holiday markets, and my favorite is the Morningside Woman’s Club (MWC) Holiday Market. This market stands out with its diverse range of artisans, offering 60 vendors. It’s the perfect spot to complete all your holiday shopping. Even if you don’t celebrate the holidays, the market is a delightful place to explore. I once found a fantastic icebreaker game there, a wooden disk that you spin to prompt family stories. I brought it on a Thanksgiving trip to my in-laws’ home in Houston, leading to one of the most memorable conversations I’ve had with my family. These hidden gems truly make the MWC Holiday Market special.
As well as being a treasure trove, the market has the added bonus of raising money for youth.
“All this work goes toward funding our annual college scholarships to students graduating from Edina High School who live in the Morningside neighborhood,” says Kim Ode, a board member and fundraising chair for MWC. “In 2021, the Morningside Woman’s Club presented five seniors each with a $2,000 scholarship to further his or her education. All funds raised at the Holiday Market go toward these scholarships.”
My personal favorites are the nut gravel from Num Nuts, Edina gear from several local clothing shops, a Stirsby, jewelry, macarons and more. Indeed, there are delights for everyone, while also championing local students and businesses in the process.
