Photographer goes the extra mile to get the ideal shot.
On a day with new snow in Bredesen Park, Stephanie Thomas found the perfect scenery. The sun was just warm enough for falling snow to thickly coat the trees, and its angle in the sky was just right to make the snow sparkle in its winter rays.
“I knew it would be glorious,” Thomas says. “As I was crossing the bridge … I wondered what the bridge would look like from a distance, so I crept down the embankment next to the bridge, and after a bit of trudging through the deep snow along the creek, I eventually got the view I’d been imagining.”
Thomas captured the moment, freezing the frozen scenery in a picture that would outlast the season.
