Edina resident Jessica Zehringer launched Sota Pumpkins in 2024 in an effort to to spice up local fall porch décor. The delivery service installs porch decorations including hand-picked pumpkins and other fall essentials to create a cozy seasonal atmosphere.
The inspiration behind the business came from a trip to Dallas, where Zehringer noticed another woman doing porch installs. “I was craving a creative outlet, and with my youngest now in preschool this felt like the year to go for it,” Zehringer says. “ I told my husband, ‘There’s nothing like that here, how fun would it be to do this together?’ We loved the idea.”
With a background in teaching elementary school, Zehringer always felt drawn to layout design and loved rearranging a room. “I’ve always had a natural eye for placement, and it translates to porches as balanced layouts. The right scale and a warm, welcoming feel—that’s the work I love at Sota Pumpkins,” she says.
Completely family-run, the entirety of the planning, delivery and installation process is handled directly by Zehringer, her husband and on a lucky day, their sons. They even handle the cleanup, with the family returning to retrieve the decorations when the season ends. “It’s family run, detail driven and it shows,” Zehringer says. “We’re not just dropping off pumpkins, we’re creating a hassle-free moment on your front step, from setup to cleanup.”

Sota Pumpkins offers six porch packages, all Minnesota-themed, based on what you envision for your porch. Zehringer prefers their neutrals package. “The layered creams, soft greens and natural tones feel so timeless,” she says. However, there are a variety of decoration options available.
The company is already thinking ahead to next season, searching for ways to add customization and more ease to their customers. “Our hope is to become a part of people’s traditions, so when they think about making their porch feel welcoming for fall, they’ll think of us,” Zehringer says.
