Take your pick – Lynx, Timberwolves, Twins, United FC, Vikings and Wild. And that’s just the pro sports teams in Minnesota.

The state that plays together … you know the rest. People in this neck of the North love games of any sort (even hands of Pinochle can get feisty).

The state of professional sports keeps plenty of folks entertained, excited, and, sometimes downright exasperated. (Heck, there’s always next year!) Let’s get crazy, let’s get nuts for the Minnesota Lynx (WNBA), Timberwolves (NBA), Twins (MLB), United FC (MLS), Vikings (NFL) and Wild (NHL).

Wait—the game’s not over. College sports give fans plenty to rah-rah about. The University of Minnesota’s Golden Gophers provide Division I excitement, as do Minnesota State University, St. Cloud State University and the University of Minnesota-Duluth hockey teams. (Don’t count out the Johnnies, Tommies, Gusties and others for those Division 3 devotees.)

Hold on—there’s more time on the clock. The Minnesota State High School Leagues’ state tournaments are a major draw with more than half a million in attendance. Television coverage of five of the tournaments blankets 2.2 million households. That’s a lot of popcorn and pop—not soda!
