Make the Most of MEA Break

The MEA weekend comes at a time when many families are ready for a pause. School routines are back, activities are underway and family calendars already feel full. This year, instead of starting MEA travel planning with “Where should we go?,” start with “What do we need this weekend to feel like?”

For some families, that means country air, early nights and golden hours outside. For others, it means city energy, good meals and museums. For another, it’s a family-friendly resort with the right balance of kid and parent freedom. The key is matching the experience to a family’s actual season of life.

For a restorative MEA Break, keep three things in mind:

  1. What feeling do you want to walk away with?
  2. Pick one “anchor” experience, and plan around it.
  3. Build in intentional breathing room.

The best long weekends are not the busiest ones. They are the ones that give families just what they need in their current season.
