Free lessons at 50th & France make for an ideal date night.
Swish and swing at Dancing in the Plaza, which offers a free dance lesson from Arthur Murray Dance Center. The event takes place at 7 p.m. August 22 at Nolan Mains Plaza. Guests are invited to join a professionally led, beginner-friendly 30-minute lesson on the beautiful styles of bachata and merengue. With the addition of live music added last year, the event draws many dancers as well as a curious audience.
“People who arrive as spectators find themselves joining in on the dancing,” says Elyse Smith, studio manager and instructor at Arthur Murray Dance Center. “Laughing, learning and moving to live music together creates an atmosphere that’s both joyful and welcoming.”

Smith suggests participants wear comfortable, secure shoes and to “come ready to be part of an experience that’s all about connection, movement and community.”
