These chocolate banana muffins easy to whip up and kids love them.

Muffins are my go-to on-the-go breakfast or snack for my family. They’re easy to whip up and my kids love them, especially when there is chocolate involved! These chocolate banana muffins are a family favorite of ours. They’re filled with wheat flour, Greek yogurt and no refined sugar. Best yet, my 2- and 5-year-old love to help make them!

Greek Yogurt Chocolate Banana Muffins

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 Tbsp. canola or coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup white whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a muffin pan with cooking spray. In a medium bowl, mash the bananas. Add maple syrup, vanilla, eggs, oil and Greek yogurt. In a smaller bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt. Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips. Divide the batter between the 12 muffin cups. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, until baked through.

Enjoy!

Store leftovers in an airtight container.
