Capturing winter’s quiet beauty in Pamela Park.
Last winter was anything but typical for Minnesota—a season of mostly “winter light.” So when local photographer Deanne Probst saw the snow falling in March 2024, she grabbed her camera and went to Pamela Park.
“I had done little winter photography due to our dry winter, and these ideal conditions beckoned,” Probst says. “We had a rare snowy day with soft, large snowflakes, falling straight and silently down.”
Probst’s photo is a south-facing view of the channel that connects Lake Pamela to Minnehaha Creek.
“I love my Pamela Park neighbors and neighborhood—and almost daily walk the wooded paths and enjoy the seasonal beauty of our local park,” she says. “This image conveys the very peaceful, calm and quiet feeling I experienced that March day.”
