Edina Education Fund CAKE-Off

The tantalizing aroma of freshly baked cakes is one of the loveliest aspects of the Edina Education Fund’s annual CAKE-Off (Community Action for Kids’ Education). The cherry on top of this occasion is it’s the largest fundraiser of the year for the charity.

The CAKE-Off is more than just a culinary competition. It’s a fundraiser that supports educational initiatives in the local community. Participants showcase their creativity by crafting exquisite cakes, each telling a unique story through its flavors and designs. There are two categories of bakers: professionals and home bakers. Professional bakers donate cakes for the live and silent auction, which are displayed at the event. Home bakers submit photos of their cakes online, and attendees vote on their favorites. I know of home bakers in this city who plan months in advance to perfect the ideal cake.
