Skate with the Hornets

Are you a Hornet's Boys' Hockey Fan? Have you ever wanted to meet your favorite Hornet hockey player? Well, grab your skates and camera and head to Braemar Ice Arena on Sunday, January 26 from 1pm-2:30pm.

The Edina High School Boys' Varsity and Junior Varsity hockey players will be on site to take pictures, sign posters and skate with their fans! Hockey fun for all ages. Treats will be provided.

Bring a non-perisable food item or cash donation for VEAP food shelf.

2013 Races 4 ACES

Run a 5K to support ACES, an after-school tutor and mentor program for urban students in the Minneapolis and St. Paul public schools. There will be a 1K kids’ fun run as well. Attend the post-event party at Pinstripes in Edina for an awards ceremony, free bowling, appetizers and prizes. $40, children’s registration $8. Windows into Children's Benefit Dinner

Enjoy an evening of dining, entertainment and the chance to bid on artists’ creations to benefit the Star Studio, an in-house TV studio and theater at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. Inspired by drawings made by patients at Children’s, artists from the Twin Cities have created art in a variety of mediums including ceramics, glass, jewelry, fabric, oils and watercolors for the silent auction.

Sons of Norway Vonheim Lodge Torsk Dinner

As summer blends into autumn, the annual Vonheim Lodge, Sons of Norway, Torsk Dinner arrives.

When:  Tuesday, October 15

Time:  6:30 p.m.

Where:  Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 48th & France Ave., Mpls.

Cost:  $15 for adults, $7 for children

This event is a Fundraiser to provide scholarships for children to attend Norwegian language camps.

A fairytale world awaits your family at Como Park Zoo and Conservatory’s kid-friendly Halloween festival and fundraiser. More than 200 volunteers will be dressed in costumes and ready to provide a gently scary good time. $6–$7.
