October is known for Socktober, a country-wide opportunity for people to donate socks to those in need. Socks are often the most requested items in shelters, yet they are the least donated. Throughout the month, Edina-based Stinson Services is collecting new adult and children’s socks. All donations will go to Simpson Housing Services, a Minneapolis nonprofit that provides advocacy, housing and support to people without stable housing.
New socks can be dropped off at Stinson Services’ office on Bush Lake Road. For more information, go to stinsonservices.com.
