Purduettes Perform a Free Show in Edina!

This show will be a free 90 minute performance while the Purduettes are on tour in Minnesota this fall.  Their shows consist of music from all genres and some dancing as well.  Please join us for this fun and free evening of music for all ages!  Doors will open at 6:30 pm and the show will start at 7 pm in the South View Middle School Theater.

Author/Songwriter Elisa Korenne at the Edina Arts Center

Singer-songwriter, author, and Prairie Public artist Elisa Korenne will feature her award-winning memoir at Edina Arts Center with a reading and signing featuring live songs.

North Star Press released Hundred Miles to Nowhere: An Unlikely Love Story by New York City performing songwriter-turned-rural-writer Elisa Korenne on June 6, 2017. B.S., Incorporated Book Signing

Jennifer Rock and Michael Voss will be doing a reading and signing event at the Galleria Barnes & Noble in Edina on Thursday, June 1st at 6:00PM for their new novel B.S., Incorporated. Michael and Jennifer are particularly excited about this event because they have spent their entire careers living and working in the Twin Cities. Jazz88 FM KBEM and Patty Peterson Present “Minnesota Jazz Legends: The Elders”

Jazz Appreciation Month with some of Minnesota’s most notable jazz legends,
hosted by Patty Peterson (award
winning vocalist and KBEM Radio host) in an intimate afternoon of live music

Spring has arrived in Minnesota! We welcome the season by transforming the Margaret Foss Gallery into a space of flora and fauna inspired artwork. Viewers will find work that brings the beauty of spring blossoms into your home, and artwork designed to be displayed in the garden alongside your plants. An assortment of art ranging from unique pottery, metal art, glass, jewelry and clothing inpsired by the garden, photography, painting and drawing with floral and garden themes. Divergent, BFA Photography Graduate Exhibition

The Art Institutes International Minnesota graduates are proud to announce their show Divergent. The word divergent means to be moving in different directions from a similar interest, which underscores the relationship between the work of Neal Burke and Kathleen Devine. As a sports photographer, Neal captures action, impact and passion. Kathleen is a fine art documentary photographer who uses small details or subtle humor to tell a unique story. Meet Brian Freeman on the Marathon Book Tour!

Award winning author Brian Freeman returns with the latest thriller in his immensely popular Jonathan Stride series – MARATHON. Brian will be doing a reading, discussion and book signing at Barnes & Noble Edina on May 9 from 7 pm – 9 pm . Marathon is a timely “ripped from the headlines” thriller involving a marathon bombing, terrorism, fear of the other and the dangers of social media. Stephan Hartman Gallery Exhibit and Opening

These paintings are about colors we’ve all seen. Often we don’t register or remark on the beauty of colors but our eyes have taken them in. Color affects everything and is everywhere. Notice your mood change when after a period of gloomy and cloudy days, the sun comes out. The light brings color. I find that rural Minnesota winters are a great inspiration for thinking of, remembering, and depicting colors. That’s what these paintings are, memories of colors we’ve all seen. MacPhail Spotlight Series: From the Balkans to the Holy Land

This eclectic concert will showcase the virtuosity of Paul Schoenfield’s Klezmer-inspired trio, the transcendent Fantasy on a Yiddish Song by David Evan Thomas, old Ukrainian folk tunes passed on through generations, and the beloved Hungarian Dances by Brahms.

Attendees will be joined by Impossible Salt, an imaginative and kinetic theater group specializing in folk stories and mythology. Actors will perform the Hungarian Dances with their exotic gypsy flair.
