When you look through your photo files, what do you see? Whether it’s a candid moment, an iconic area landmark, a brush with nature or something in between, odds are it captures a glimpse of what it’s like to call Edina home. From May 1–June 21, the Images of Edina photo contest is open to shutterbugs of all ages and experience levels. Explore your shots from this past year, and share what the spirit of Edina looks like through your lens.
The contest is a joint venture between Edina Magazine and the City of Edina. Categories include: Activities & Events, Businesses, Learning, People, Places in Edina and Plants & Animals. Judges reserve the right to recategorize submissions if they feel the photographs are better suited to a different category.
Submissions:
- Submissions are accepted between 8 a.m. May 1–5 p.m. June 21, at edinamag.com.
- Entrants must live, work or attend school in Edina.
- Entrants may submit up to five photos, with no more than three in any category.
- Photos should be taken in Edina.
- Generally, photos should have been taken within a year of the submission date.
- Photo submissions that are AI generated will not be considered. The use of heavy filters or photo editing is discouraged.
- Please remove professional signatures and watermarks from submissions.
- Photos files should be between 1MB–3MB.
- Participants must have permission from any persons pictured in the photo to use that photo and permission of a parent in the case of minors. Neither the City of Edina nor the magazine are responsible for obtaining subject permissions. Subject permissions must be obtained before submitting photos to the photo contest. Participants agree to the City of Edina’s Submitted Photo Policy.
Readers’ Choice:
- Readers’ Choice voting is open July 1–31 on our website.
- Readers can vote once per day per category in the Readers’ Choice poll.
- There will be one overall Readers’ Choice winner.
Winners:
- Winning images could be featured in our magazine, website and social media platforms.
- Winning images will be printed and displayed in a City of Edina building. Entries could also be featured on the City of Edina’s website, publications and social media platforms.
- Depending on the number of entrants, a first, second and third place will be awarded. Judges may also select additional photos for honorable mention.
- All decisions will be final; judges reserve the right to award a winner in any category.
- The results of the contest will be posted on our website by October.
